Details Talk by Lindsay Whitehouse on the life and times of William Calcraft. This is about a Chelmsford man, who was the longest serving executioner in the history of this country. It comes with a bit of a health warning, it includes some artists scenes of actual executions, and contains some detailed descriptions of the process of some people being hung. Some of the stories of the murderers contain details of their crimes, which are often violent. Lindsay will also explore the mindset of the executioner, how could he live with his conscience and how did he relax from a job where he hung over 450 people. I also talk about his early days growing up in Little Baddow.
