Hereford is a beautiful, compact cathedral City in the Wye Valley of some 60,00 people. It is home to the Cathedral Church of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Ehelbert which dates from 1079A.D. It houses the Mappa Mundi which records how 13th century scholars interpreted the world in both spiritual and geographical ways. Jerusalem is depicted as being at the centre of their world.
There are several museums for you to choose from - a Cider Museum; a Waterworks museum; the Black and White House Museum as well, of course as Hereford's own museum and art gallery. If you become "museumed out" then Hereford is just a beautiful place to relax and to top up your caffeine intake.
