Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Information This group had its inaugural session early in 2024 when it became the first u3a AI group in Lincolnshire. The group continues to publish a monthly newsletter which publicises AI events and talks given by an active national AI team. Regular sessions are currently suspended due to low membership in this group. Members are given up to date information about AI events taking place across the wider U3A community. The current group leader is a member of the national U3A team for AI and is well placed to know about current activities taking place.

Information We meet at Dunholme Indoor Bowls Centre in Honeyholes Lane. The first three sessions are free when a tutor will show you how to play. You will be loaned shoes and bowls for your trial period. After that you can join the Bowls Club for £40 p.a., play whenever you want and pay £3 each time. Most of our u3a members have now done this. Otherwise the charge is £5 per session.

The group is for anyone who wants to take their basic knowledge to the next level following little or no previous experience. We will look at a range of everyday situations to practice speaking, listening and writing. We currently use the Easy French Step-By-Step and BBC Talk French textbooks as a resource. Information At our monthly meetings we have a guest speaker. In the summer months we visit at least one garden each month; if it is out of the county then we organise a coach to take us there. We produce a monthly newsletter which includes our programme. We also organise the occasional workshop, e.g. planting an air plant container or apple grafting. We also organise an annual holiday to another area of the UK. In 2026 we are visiting Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex over 4 days. For more information contact Jane on 07971 277482.

Information This is a basic introduction to Spanish for anyone who wants to learn a few words and phrases to get the confidence to speak the language on holiday. This short course offers a fun introduction to this wonderful language. The next course will run in August 2027. The course will last for 4 to 6 sessions in total and will provide a wonderful introduction towards the Spanish Beginners course. Contact the Spanish Convenor for more details. Information Spanish Language Meet-Up Group for Beginners is our second virtual group and follows on from the success of the first group set up earlier this year.
