Information Whether you are a complete novice who just enjoys colouring-in, or you are a proficient artist turning out masterpieces, you are all welcome at this friendly, social art group. Although this is not a teaching group, we all support each other with advice and tips. We have a break for refreshments halfway through the session - when we admire (or puzzle) over each other’s creations. The cost towards the room hire is £2 each. We meet every Monday from 1pm to 3pm at Oaken Grove Community Centre.

Information Ballroom and Sequence Dancing for beginners and improvers who want to enjoy a fun two hours together. A new dance added frequently and old dances get refreshed to get more practice. French Conversation

Information A relaxed group providing opportunities for members to chat in French about topics of interest and daily life. Members subscribe to a French language magazine which provides updates on French culture, geography and current affairs as a stimulus to conversation. Information Come and enjoy exercising your mind and body through improving our Strength, Flexibility and Balance.The sessions will follow a programme recommended by the NHS. Our instructor is not qualified but will follow the scheme. We must all remember we all know our own bodies so must take responsibility for all the exercises that we do. The whole session takes place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The exercises are fun to do and you will leave the session with a feeling of well being. Class:10.00 - 11.00 then stay for chat and coffee 11.00-11.30

Walking 1

Information Walks take place on a Thursday in each month and are between 6.5 and 8 miles. Walks are in the Vale of York, the Dales, North York Moor and the Wolds. We sometimes (but rarely) use buses but nearly always car share. The meeting place varies but more often than not is the Ethel Ward car park off York Road Haxby and members will be notified by email (or phone for those without email). Walks are free . A contribution towards fuel costs is welcome. We usually (but not always)return prior 4:00pm. We always stop for a break. We visit a pub or teashop where possible but do bring a picnic lunch and a drink if you wish.

Information Short walks take place on the 4th Friday of each month. The pace is SLOW. The distance is normally 3 to 4 miles. We meet outside St Mary’s Church, The Village, Haxby, usually around 9:15 to 10:15am. We travel by local buses, so walks are free for those people with a bus pass. We stop for breaks and we visit a pub or teashop when we can. Do bring a snack and a drink. We usually return before 4:00pm.
