S & E Group
Dear member,
Welcome to the re-established S& T Group. Geoff Ball did a great job in starting the original U3A S&T group. I sort of volunteered to be the new group leader, looking at the name list I sure we will have a good group. Dorthy has offered to serve tea at the first meeting.
I would like to thank you for joining the group and I will do my best as Group Leader and I would like to thank Dorothy for agreeing to be Deputy Group Leader. We need your help and without your help we would be talking to a wall.Wednesday 20th at 2:00pm in Wigginton Church Hall Back Lane.
The Objective of U3A - S & E is fun, friendship and you may learn something.
Scope of the Group
• Engineering :- Civil, Electrical and Mechanical
• Science :- Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• The practical application of science and engineering, methods and skills
Talks or PowerPoint presentations could be on any of the above subjects. Do not be concerned if you do not .wish to do a talk or PowerPoint presentation. I do not wish to bring in outside speakers.
Area of organising we would delegate. Hopefully we will have volunteers.
1/ Visits to places of interest this would require an organiser.
e.g. Derwent Railway, Elvington Air Museum, food production or manufacture.
2/ A person to write reports and put articles in the U3A mag. and for the website.
3/Organiser for a Christmas dinner, if the group desires a dinner,
Suggest; a café or restaurant, A pub with room or take away in Wigginton church hall.
Think we may have Vegetarians, Vegans and people with common food allergies or intolerance e.g. requiring gluten, egg, lactose, caffeine or milk free.
