Details Meeting April till October there are 3 levels of cycling available, gentle - cycling from Rushden Lakes stopping at Stanwick Lakes for those that wish to meet there then on to The Old Water Mill for coffee and cake (50 minutes each way) moderate - cycling from Rushden Lakes stopping at Stanwick Lakes for those that wish to meet there then onto Thrapston for lunch - 1 hour 20 minutes each way moderate + away - as this ride goes from different locations it would mean transporting your bike to the start of the ride - generally these rides are round routes which can take between 2/3 hours

Members would need to commit to buying the books we will be reading on Kindle or online. We are reading Bringing the House Down: A Family Memoir by David Purfumo. David Profumo was just seven when his father, who had been Secretary of State for War, resigned from the Macmillan government. Despite the furore and humiliation that followed, his parents famously stayed together - and now, forty years on, their son has written this long-awaited account of their family life before, during and after the sensational events of 1963.

Walking in Country parks

Details Walking - Country Parks and pocket parks within a short driving distance of Rushden. Car lifts can be arranged. We are not ramblers, and the pace is set so that we wait for the slowest walker. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month throughout the year, and the walk commences at 10.30am and finishes about 12 noon. Dogs must be kept on a lead. After the walk some members get together for lunch at one of the nearby country pubs. Any u3a member is very welcome to join us as a sample walk to see if they would like to join the group
